Livia Espiritu, Associate Attorney

Livia Espiritu is an Associate Attorney at Forootan Law, where she provides representation to the firm’s clients, both employers and employees. Ms. Espiritu previously worked at Forootan Law as a summer law clerk and post-bar law clerk.

Prior to joining Forootan Law, Ms. Espiritu earned her bachelor’s degree in philosophy and a pre-law certificate from California State University Long Beach in 2016. Before attending law school, she worked as a legal secretary at various firms specializing in estate planning, land use, eminent domain and real estate litigation.

Ms. Espiritu graduated in 2024 with a Juris Doctor degree from Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law. During her time at Chapman law school, she participated as a competing member of Moot Court and Mock Trial, served as Vice President of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association, and received the Entertainment Law certificate.

Sonya Nawabi, Law Clerk

Sonya Nawabi is a law clerk at Forootan Law Corp., where she provides legal support and assistance to Managing Attorney, Shirin Forootan, and the firm’s clients.

Prior to joining Forootan Law, Ms. Nawabi earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California Merced in 2021. Throughout her undergraduate career she participated in the Merced Pre-Law Society, Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, organized fundraising for the Merced Center of Visual Enhancement, and worked closely with the political science department to evaluate and grade upper division course work.

Ms. Nawabi will be a second-year Juris Doctor candidate at Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law. During her first year, she joined the Corporate Law Society, Chapman Women Lawyers Association, and ended her first year as a quarter finalist in the annual Golden Gavel Moot Court. Ms. Nawabi will be working toward obtaining a Business Certification in addition to her Juris Doctor until her anticipated graduation in 2025.
