Ms. Forootan is experienced in training management, human resources personnel, and non-management employees on employment-related issues such as harassment, discrimination, and retaliation prevention, and best practices regarding compliance with California employment laws. She provides sexual harassment prevention training, which is required by law of all California employers with five or more employees.
The law requires employers to provide one hour of sexual harassment and abusive conduct prevention training to nonsupervisory employees and two hours of sexual harassment and abusive conduct prevention training to supervisors and managers once every two years. The law requires the training to include practical examples of harassment based on gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation. Some employer requirements under the law include employers must retain a record of all employees’ training for a minimum of two years; employers must provide sexual harassment and abusive conduct prevention training to employees every two years; employers must provide employees with a poster or fact sheet developed by the Department of Fair Employment and Housing regarding Sexual Harassment, or equivalent information.
